Barefoot Trimming Services

Serving the West Kootenays, from Nakusp to Nelson + Castlegar

I began my trimming apprenticeship when I purchased a feral rescue mare who wouldn't let anyone else touch her. Since then, I've had the privilege of learning directly from incredible, pioneering, open hearted teachers.

I've maintained the hooves of my personal horses and teaching herds, anywhere from 8- 20 animals at any one time. I've helped rehab terribly foundered hooves, seedy toe, and other deviations of the hoof capsule, and mentored owners to support their horse's capacity to heal.

In 2023, I traveled to Alberta to trim and learn from David Landreville, as his focus on building a fully live foot balanced over the back of the heels and his attention to the feedback provided by the horses themselves has revolutionized my trim.

Now, I've turned my focus and attention to supporting the hooves of my client's horses in the West Kootenays of BC.

I like to work slowly, with a non-assuming touch, giving the horse time to feel out the changes I'm making, while maintaining clear communication with the animal's guardian so everyone understands what's happening and the best path forward.

"You've completely changed what I thought was possible for my two laminitic mares, both for their feet and their overall well being. Thank you, thank you."
